So biliary is a viral infection caused by ticks, in humans it’s called tick bite fever, and if ever you’ve had tick bite fever you will know that it isn’t fun.
My one dog appears to have biliary. He isn’t eating his food and his gums are pale which is a fairly good indication that he is infected with the virus.
I have treated my dogs many times over the years for this infection with great success using dandelions. Yes! The common garden weed with the lovely daisy-like bright yellow flower and the puffy seed heads that we used to blow as children.
Harvest the leaves from the plants and wash. Chop the leaves up like spinach and cook with their food. If you don’t cook for your dog/s then cook the chopped leaves in a little water with some butter and salt and add it to their dry food like a gravy. If your dog is fussy and won’t eat the leaves like that then cook them up with some mince or other meat to serve separately or over their dry food.
About a cup of chopped fresh leaves per dog will work wonders.
Repeat daily until your dog is behaving normally (as in eating happily and being their normal happy selves again).
If you use this treatment and your dog is not improving then take your pet to the vet for assessment. This treatment is extremely effective but cannot replace advice from a veterinarian. Should you get professional advice and medication then use the natural treatment as a booster.
Here’s to happy dogs!
